About

Jan Federici Jaeger is a sociologist with an interest in how people interpret and use patterns and symbols to create shared meaning and express cultural identity. In handwoven textiles, the designs and ways of weaving carry shared knowledge across generations, preserving traditions over centuries.

Her long standing relationships with respected dealers, collectors, and artisans provide access to a broad range of rugs and textile art from weaving traditions around the world. Since the mid-1980s, she has collected rugs and textile art and helped interior designers, architects, and individuals find pieces they value.

Jan is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, with degrees from the Wharton School, Penn’s School of Medicine, and the School of Arts and Sciences, where she earned her PhD in Sociology.
